Eskimo Steel Disassembles Kroll K-10,000 Tower Crane
In Spring of 2011, Eskimo Steel Ltd. was involved with the disassembly of the Kroll K-10,000 Tower Crane at Syncrude, reportedly the largest tower crane in the world. Ironworkers worked at over 350 ft. above ground in a tight and congested work area.
The disassembly was completed without incident, ahead of schedule and under budget.

The 2011 Alberta Region CISC Steel Design Awards of Excellence were held in Edmonton on March 24, 2011, showcasing Alberta’s innovation and talent within the Steel construction Industry.
45 projects were submitted for five categories, which consisted of; Architectural, Engineering, Industrial, Sustainability and Steel Edge.
In collaboration with fellow CISC member BPTEC –DNW Engineering Ltd., Eskimo Steel Ltd is pleased to announce that the Shell Canada Energy Reactor Building Modifications submission as the award winner for the Industrial category.
